They say you’re never far from a rat in London, but nowadays it seems the same applies when it comes to people who vape. Vaping is, without a doubt, on the rise. But why? Is it that people genuinely want to stop smoking? Is it because there are promised health benefits? Have people started because it’s ‘trendy’?
Whatever the reason, it seems to me like vaping is here to stay, even though I never though it’d catch on. I remember seeing people talk about it, all the visual ads and a couple of people with them in the street but I genuinely didn’t think that people would like the idea as much as they do. But I must be wrong because it’s clearly popular enough for people to be setting up specialist shops in our towns and cities which can only mean that it’s going from strength to strength and that there’s money in it.
As with anything, the trend has evolved and with that so have the products that come with it. I now have friends who have given up cigarettes in favour of e-cigarettes but I think it’s a good time to point out that some e-cigarettes do still contain some level of nicotine although nowhere near the levels found in tobacco. So why would you want to make the switch?
My all time favourite reason would be that us non smokers no longer get clouds of tobacco blown in our faces when we’re walking down the street. The smell of cigarettes makes me feel physically sick, but the vapour released from e-cigarettes actually smells pretty good and there are so many ‘flavours’ available. They’re battery operated devices and can be put in your bag or back pocket which means no more stubbing out the butts on the ground. That’s the other thing I hate, seeing the kids pick up fag butts and wondering what they are – yuck!
The range of e-cigarette products available now are plentiful. There are all types of different of kits that cater for beginners and those with a little more experience, some with longer battery life, some with extra features. You can find exactly what you’re looking for online, in any style you like and any colour you like too! Vapelux stock high quality, reliable and stylish products – take their aspire premium kit for example which is perfect for everyone!
Vaping kits can be as cheap as £14.99 and range up to some big prices, but any kind of budget will work as they work out so much cheaper than cigarettes. I remember when I was younger and my Nan smoked she used to pay around £3.59 a pack, and toward the end of her smoking life they were around £8 a pack which is criminal!
Vaping is just a great way to reduce the nicotine intake for those who are addicted to that but my nan said it wasn’t so much the nicotine but more the motions you go through when smoking; having something in between your fingers or in your hand and drawing the smoke in to your mouth. You don’t know what to do with yourself when you’ve smoked for a crazy amount of time as it becomes second nature and even though she doesn’t smoke now, she will still say she’d like to have a sneaky fag, and she probably sometimes does, but it was the habit of the hold and the draw.
What do you think about vaping? Has it helped/affected you, or someone you know? Do you think it’s better than smoking, or just as bad?
