This week, I think has been a much better week for me to be able to appreciate the little loves in my life. I don’t know if it’s because I’ve had a chance to become more observant, whether it’s because I’m less ill, or whether things have fallen the right way.
I’ve been reading a lot of blogs this week. I’m trying to comment as much as I can because I really want to up that community feel. Linkies are a great way for me to do this and the two I’ve been sticking with each week are a good way for me to do that. Admittedly, I do sometimes struggle to get round to it but I am genuinely, really trying. One of the blogs I’ve really been enjoying reading is Nicola Says. Nicola is a good friend of mine anyway, but her pictures are always incredible and her writing is relatable. She just makes me think back to when the boys were Ottilie’s age and I think that’s what I love when I read her blog.
Since we are going skiing in a couple of weeks it would be totally rude not to watch Ski Sunday. It’s one of the programmes that I would never have watched growing up, and it’s only the last three years I’ve been really in to it! But now I love it and it really gets me in the mood to ski; although absolutely no way do I go as fast as some of those loonies, eek!
One other thing I simply can’t fail to mention this week is that we have finally gotten our trailer for our wedding video even though we now have the whole thing. It’s so lovely to be able to look back on our day again!
I’m going to keep this one simple this week because I made such a nice chicken pie it simply can not have a mention. It’s a Lean In 15 recipe although, as always, there are a couple of tweaks. You’ll find it in my ‘What We Ate | The Meal Diaries‘ series on Sunday.
As a mum I find that I spend more and more money on the kids and their clothes and less and less on myself. My wardrobe is pathetic and I have so few pairs of shoes to my name I might as well just live in my slippers! So this week I decided that outside of my Ugg boots, ankle boots and one pair of flats that I needed something comfy to do the nursery runs in, or something quick to slip on if I go and do a food shop. So I treated myself. There. I said it. I spent money on myself. I bought myself not one but two pairs of Adidas Gazelles. A pair in black and a pair in an off white colour and I am in love. They are super comfy and have changed the wardrobe I do have completely. I love them!
I’ve honestly not really heard much this week. I always struggle with this one because it’s usually the sound of whiny children that fills my ears. Ooh I have heard on the grapevine that Ex On The Beach is back on the telly box – eek! It’s one of my guilty pleasures. Do you watch it?
This week I finally got round to having a long overdue catch up with one of my friends, which was really lovely, as we hadn’t seen each other since my wedding in October! It’s so weird how so much time can pass and yet it only feels like a week or two. It’s so hard when you’re parents to keep up with everything and everyone but you make it work and true friends are always there, even months later!
