There is little more I love than a clean and tidy house despite cleaning being the bane of my life. I’m not talking about a dust here and a hoover there, I am talking full on clean from the inside out. Decluttering has become a part of my life and, while I’ve got a long way to go yet, I love the feeling that there’s ‘space’. Roll on the house move when not a single piece of junk will pass the door!
I’ve mentioned a few times before that I have a cleaner but for me it’s about making sure we’re using the right products around the house. I like ones that do what they say, are a good price and smell nice. Sometimes it’s nice to pay a bit more for a ‘luxury’ cleaning product but most of the time they do the same job as a cheaper one. ACE recently contacted me to see if I’d like to try some of their cleaning and laundry range and I was quite excited to say yes. It might seem silly to say yes to a few cleaning products but with the big move coming up there are so many things to focus on when it comes to leaving this house in tip top condition and also to ensure our new house is kept organised, clutter free and clean from the moment we move in.
Cleaning The Toilets With ACE
One of the jobs I loathe is cleaning the toilet. I know it only takes a few minutes but it’s just one of those jobs I dread. We have three toilets in this house and they all display similar issues. There’s nothing actually wrong with them but it’s mostly the build up of limescale and general toilet grime. I will always make sure to clean all around the outside of the toilet (I’ve got one husband, one child who sometimes forgets where he’s supposed to point and luckily the other one is still in nappies for the time being!) and the floor gets a good seeing to afterwards.
The cistern also gets a good freshen up as well as the button/handle for the flush (those toilet germs jump I’m sure of it). The bit I don’t look forward to is the actual toilet bowl; getting under the rim and trying to get as far down the bend as possible as well as making sure the seat is cleaned all over. It’s like a marathon because there’s always something else that needs cleaning; obviously the sink and everything in the vicinity also needs doing.
ACE’s new toilet gels have given me some very nice surprises. The first is that the ‘WC-Toilet Gel’, which is designed to descale, works really well. We’ve had so much less build up since using it and by keeping the toilets fresh it means we don’t have to scrub them as hard. The second ‘pro-enzymes gel’ is formulated to fight bad smells and sanitise the toilet to leave it fresh.
One thing that I love about both of these gels is that they actually stay in the toilet long after you’ve flushed it. Most other toilet gels, descalers and so forth tend to get washed away with the first flush whereas these stay put. They’re quite thick, but that’s not a bad thing, and they smell so good! Even the cleaner commented on how nice they were.
I will make sure that, when we leave this house, the toilets will be clean, sparkling and smelling ‘ace’. See what I did there?
Doing Laundry With ACE
We all have to do it. Loads and loads of laundry nearly every day… and do we ever catch up? I certainly don’t. My ironing pile is almost as tall as me and the washing pile grows quicker than I can usually keep up with. ACE’s laundry products are coming in handy, especially with how filthy the boys have been getting recently.
The gorgeous weather we’ve had means they’ve been outside more than usual recently (especially Toby at nursery!) and it also means they’re playing in stones, mud and water which is obviously the best combination in the world for children. Only, not for their clothes. I don’t think they’ve ever been dirtier and sometimes it’s actually just easier to throw them out rather than trying to get the stains our.
‘ACE for Colours’ has been made to remove the toughest of stains while still being delicate. The trouble we have with colours at the moment is that they can fade quite quickly, or they’re just so dirty they’re not worth keeping. After using this ACE product the colours are keeping really and they’re coming up really, really clean. This is great for every day use, which is just as well. You can use this on all materials including wool, silk and cashmere.
On the other hand ‘Ace for Whites’ has been where it’s at. It’s been formulated to work better on light fabrics and help brighten the dullness that’s almost inevitable. I rarely dress the boys in white purely on the basis that they will end up ruined, probably because of spaghetti hoops or something, but I’ve been getting braver. Only yesterday were they in white t-shirts and they’ve literally come out as good as new. I usually use a ‘well known’ brand of detergent to help with stains and whites but this does a much better job in my opinion.
I’d love to move into our new house having gotten all of our clothes fresh, washed and clean beforehand. Start as you mean to go on, right?
Everyday Cleaning With ACE
Despite having a cleaner I do have to pick up some cleaning during the week. Surely you didn’t think a household of four would be able to keep the house spick and span? If there’s a product that does an all in one job then that’s great and that’s exactly what ‘ACE Multi-Purpose’ does. It can also be used as a laundry stain remover for coloured clothes but this is mostly used just around the home. It does the bathrooms, it does the kitchen and it brings up the skirting boards really well. Polishing the skirting boards is ok but I never find they’re left with that ‘finished look’. This multi purpose spray does just that and leaves a nice, fresh smell wherever you use it.
The ‘ACE Power Mousse’ is good for all kinds of things around the house too. I prefer to use this one in the bathroom because it’s more foamy and can soak into those crevices and grout that little bit better than a spray. It doesn’t drip or splash everywhere so it’s very precise when you apply it. It does have bleach in it which means you can also use this on white clothes to help with stains. A perfect little ‘under the sink’ addition!
ACE cleaning and laundry products have genuinely had an impact on my cleaning around the house. They smell nice, come in generously sized bottles and really work. I’d like to see more of a range and I’m excited to see if they expand their product line. Why don’t you try some of ACE’s products too?
