Review | Degustabox June 2017

It’s Degustabox time again, yay! You guys know how I love my monthly Degustabox delivery and, of course, normally I blog about the contents every month. Last month I changed it up and vlogged the unboxing and this month I’ve changed it up again because I unboxed/unveiled it live on Facebook!
I don’t usually do live stream because I get a bit flustered but it was good fun and it was good to get some live interaction so I think I’ll do it again next month, what do you think? If you missed the video you can catch it below. You’ll also find details of all the products included along with their prices, where you can buy them and a discount code for £7 off your first box!

The Degustabox Contents

Eisberg Sauvignon Blanc Wine (alcohol free), £1.49

A nice little touch if you’re pregnant or fancy the wine without the next day hangover but personally this isn’t for me. It’s made in exactly the same way as the alcoholic wine but it just has the alcohol gently removed at the end. I guess it does make it less calories!

Capsicana Brazilian Chilli & Coconut Quick Cook Sauce, £1.99

I actually can’t wait to try this, it sounds right up my street. I love fragrant sauces and I do like coconut. As I said on the live stream the sauce is based on the classic ‘Moqueca’ stew from Bahia state which is north of Rio in Brazil. It suggests that you cook it with chicken, peppers and onions and should take around 15 minutes to make. If you want some more recipe ideas you can check out the website.

Haribo Summer Frenzy, £1.00 per pack

Minus the foam sweets in these Haribo packs, you can’t go wrong! I’m just not a huge fan of the foam ones, there’s nothing actually wrong with them. The Haribo Starmix has new berry flavours and the Tangfastics have new ice cream and sorbet flavours just in time for Summer (or has that been and gone?).

Spoon Apple & Peanut Granola, £3.70

A very short list of quality ingredients makes up this yummy granola. I haven’t gotten round to trying it yet but I’m hoping that the cinnamon won’t be too overpowering because that’ll totally make it or break it for me. It’s quite expensive but the ingredients are totally worth it. It’s definitely a treat buy. Try it with yoghurt and/or milk!

Original O’s Savoury Cumin & Sesame Nibbles, £2.99

These were so, so yummy! I tried these live and they were everything I had hoped for and more. The cumin isn’t overpowering and the sesame seeds offer that nutty little crunch. Seriously addictive and moreish!

Walkers Pure Butter Shortbread Scottie Dogs, £1.95

Worth every penny in my eyes, but that’s probably because shortbread is my favourite biscuit of all time. I’m not ashamed to say I had already opened these prior to the live stream simply because I couldn’t wait to tuck in. They were buttery and had that crumbly yet creamy texture I’ve come to expect of Walkers. I love that they’re shaped in the little dogs, so cute!

Light Bites Mango With Vanilla Yoghurt Fruit Chips, £1.49

This was a little packet of freeze dried fruit and I have to say I did get round to opening the packet, or my husband did. I did try one and I’ve got to be honest I’m not sure I’m a fan. The mango flavour was all there, very fruity, but I didn’t really get the yoghurt and they were quite cardboard like. They got stuck in my teeth afterwards too.

Light Bites Superfood Fruit Bar, £1.25

A fruit bar packed with goji berries, quinoa, chia seeds, strawberries, blueberries and pumpkin seeds. I haven’t tried this yet but I’m just hoping it’s not too dry, that’s the problem I find with lots of these ‘healthy’ snack bars, they’re so hard to chew and swallow because they like the desert. Fingers crossed this one passes that test, I’ll try it with my cuppa later.

Schwartz Authentic American Flavour, £0.85 per pack

I literally can’t wait to get a slow cooker meal out of these. The spicy buffalo wings flavour and bbq pulled chicken both sound amazing. They’re designed to bring the taste of stateside to your tastebuds. Two other flavours are available; chicken jambalaya and sweet potato wedges which I can only imagine to taste like heaven, right?

Westons Cider, £1.99 each

These ones are only included in the alcoholic version of the Degustabox but both flavours are particularly unique. Rosie’s Pig Flat Tyre and Rosie’s Pig Handbrake are both cloudy sparkling ciders, one with rhubarb and the other with damson. The rhubarb one has even won awards. Pop some ice in a glass and pour over these ciders when the sun is out – a refreshing drink no doubt!

Berrywhite Organic Drinks, £1.39 each

These drinks are available in four different flavours but I can definitely vouch for the cranberry and apple one because it’s so, so good. They’re one of your five a day and with 10% profit going to the Berrywhite foundation you can’t go wrong. Super refreshing, thirst quenching and brilliantly tasty!

ENRJ Energy Juice, £1.75 each

These freshly pressed fruit juice drinks really are as fruity as they come. They’re naturally caffeinated with green arabica coffee beans for that energy boost. One of your five-a-day, less than 100 calories. And, as I said, there are no bits – hurray! I’m not sure how I’d feel about the kids having these just because of the caffeine (hello, did you hear them in the background of the video, they don’t need help with energy levels!) but they work for me! Yum.

If you’d like to sign up to Degustabox or fancy a trial then you can get £7 off with codeDMTF4‘.

Overall I’m not entirely sure how this month’s box had ‘much’ to do with a BBQ but it was still a good box nonetheless. While there are a couple of things I won’t have there are a couple of new things that I got to try and that’s the luck of the draw!
