Review | Jack N Jill Tooth Care

Jack N Jill are a company I’ve heard quite a lot about in the last couple of years but I’ve never really tried any of their products. It’s not that I was put off by anything but you kind of just get used to what you know and Toby was particularly fussy about flavours and so forth. However, Teddy is much more receptive to new flavours and, unlike Toby at his age, absolutely loves brushing his teeth! So, in light of that, I was delighted to be asked to review some of the tooth care range that Jack N Jill produce.

I was immediately impressed with the packaging. It’s made from recycled paper board, has a 100% corn starch window and the whole thing is biodegradable – brilliant! I love that they feel they have this duty, as they believe all businesses do, to be as kind as possible to the environment. Not only that, the packaging is super neutral with cute little characters on and I couldn’t help but love the simplicity; none of this ‘in your face’ branding, it’s really refreshing.

Jack N Jill Silicone Tooth & Gum Brush

Even Jack ‘N Jill admit there is nothing aesthetically pleasing about this little device but goodness me is it good! Teddy doesn’t care if something looks good, he just wants to brush his teeth. The great thing about this is that it’s made up of lots of little silicone bristles┬áthat will hug the teeth. You simply place some of the toothpaste (see below) on to it and if they clamp down a bit you can brush the top and bottom set at the same time.

The only thing I didn’t particularly like about this is that it doesn’t withstand chewing. We haven’t gotten to the point where it’s had enough but Teddy is a bit of a biter when it comes to these things so I try and do this and keep it moving while he has the tooth brush (see below). There’s a little ring pull which is great because it means it’s either something for Teddy to hold on to, or something for me to pull and get it out of his mouth without my fingers being put in any danger of his seriously sharp canines!

Jack N Jill Natural Toothpaste (Banana Flavour)

Teddy loves bananas and so this banana toothpaste went down a treat – obviously. Made of natural ingredients it’s completely safe to be swallowed, which is just as well as Teddy does sometimes suck all the toothpaste off before we can even get started. Incredibly it is also free from lots of other things which include fluoride, sugar, artificial colour, parabens and SLS – yippee! You don’t need to use mounds of the stuff either so it’ll last a while!

Jack N Jill Bio Toothbrush

One of the nice things about this toothbrush is that it has a small round head perfect for fitting in your little one’s mouth. The whole handle is biodegradable; you simply snap the head off once you’re finished with it, bin that and then compost the rest!

The bristles are lovely and soft which means it’s gentle on the gums, teeth and any teeth that are breaking through. Teddy’s teething his second molars at the moment so it’s nice that these are soft enough to not irritate the open gum.

The little dinosaur character is really cute too! Teamed with the above toothpaste this makes for the perfect tooth brushing experience.
