Top Five | Raincoats For A Wet Autumn

So far I think we’ve been quite lucky with the weather this Autumn. There’s no doubt in my mind that there have been more grey days than there have been sunny ones but don’t you think it’s at least been much balmier this year? That can only mean one thing – it’s the calm before the storm.

I have been lusting after a new coat for quite a while now but I don’t really know what I want so I thought I’d throw together this post to see what’s on the market this Autumn. I’ve put off buying one because the weather has been pretty good but it’s slowly starting to turn so it can’t hurt to have a little look around.

The ‘Colour Of The Blogger’

If you hadn’t noticed, then quite a few (ok, a lot) of bloggers have their staple yellow coat in lots of their Instagram posts. I don’t have one (am I even a real blogger?) but have been on the hunt for one that I might like. Because I’m so pale yellow can really wash me out so I have to try and make sure it’s not as bright as the sun and is a slightly deeper shade. This gorgeous one from Seasalt looks right up my street.

It’s fully waterproof and windproof with deep pockets, a hood and cute fastenings. The inside is the unmistakable Seasalt Breton stripe and, of course, it’s yellow! It comes in three different lengths; you can get extra long or original length but I think I like the mid way length of this one despite the £120 price tag.

Pretty In Pink

I love a bit of pretty pink even though I’m not that girly. If I do go for anything pink it’s usually quite pastel in tone and is more of a ‘blush’ shade as I find that electric and bright pinks are just too much for my skin colour to handle. This super lovely and lightweight one from H&M is great, if you can snap it up quick enough at £19.99 in the sale!

Spend A Little More

There’s nothing wrong with having a little luxury in your Autumn wardrobe and if you fancy spending it on a quality rainwear then Aquascutum have some seriously stunning coats on offer this season. Whether you’re looking for a trench coat, a packaway jacket or a simple cape style coat you’ll find what you’re looking for right here. I adore this ‘Piccadilly Cape’ in Navy and think it’s perfect for layering!

I know its £650 but a girl can dream, right? Did I mention that Aquascutum do men’s too? Now you can look twice as nice!

High Street Honey

I adore shopping in Zara. They’re super quirky and do some really lovely things, it’s just a huge shame that there isn’t really one that’s close by, especially when they do this cute one for £49.99. It comes in this colour or a sky blue colour but I like the more neutral colour and could definitely whip this on for the school run.

Last But Not Least..

In a place you probably wouldn’t think to look you’ll always find something you need. Trespass is probably one of the most obvious places to shop for an outdoor coat considering it’s an outdoor shop but normally you’d head straight to a high street fashion store. I love Trespass coats because not only are they super practical but I can use them when I go skiing too; they’re perfect for the sunnier and warmer days in the mountains. This one is £42.99 in the sale so get your hands on it while you can!

What’s your go to place when it comes to picking up a coat for the Autumn? Do you have one that you’ve held on to for years?
