Bucket List | Autumn 2016

It’s becoming increasingly apparent lately that my boys absolutely love the television and there’s nothing wrong with that, but I don’t want it to be the be all and end all of their day.

I’m finding it quite difficult to get out of the house at the moment. I feel like life is getting on top of me, I feel like wedding planning and the stress of getting two children ready to go outdoors is just too overwhelming most days. Quite honestly, I’ll be glad to be married and rid of the planning. I just always feel like I’ve got something to do, and if I’m being totally honest I’ve been neglecting the boys more than I want to. I want to be that mum who gets the crafts out, I want to be the mum who does baking with her kids, I want to be the mum who does sensory buckets and all of that kind of stuff but the truth.. right now.. is that I’m being a crap mum.

I know that they both need fresh air, as do I, and they are just like caged animals when we don’t get outdoors so in an effort to put my phone and laptop down and get the TV switched off so I can connect with my children, as well as not feeling so highly strung and stressed, I’ve made an Autumn bucket list for us. This doesn’t include every day things like going to the park, feeding the ducks or a walk to the shop but they do include things we can do when we’re stuck for ideas and I am loving my list.

I’ve also taken to creating a Pinterest board and have been pinning when I’ve had the time. I really want to keep rolling with these bucket lists to keep me focused on things to do when I feel like I’ve run out of ideas and to ensure there are less screens on in the house at any one given time. I also want to make sure I’m doing as little work as possible during the day, unless Toby’s at nursery and Ted is napping.

If you’ve got any other Autumn ideas that I’ve missed, I’d absolutely love to know!
