Project 365 – Week 16

I’ve got to be honest, a 5.15am Monday morning wake up last week isn’t the start I had in mind. I seem to be waking up earlier and earlier.. whether it’s because I need the toilet, am having a nosebleed, can’t breathe due to a blocked nose or have Toby waking up at the crack of dawn. I get quite grumpy, but I suppose I’ll have to put it down to being prepared to deal with a newborn in a couple of weeks.

Tuesday morning I went to work but left at 12 to, once again, go to the hospital for another scan and appointment. With fluid levels and blood flow being confirmed as good, the consultant was pretty useless. He measured my tummy, asked for a urine sample which I’d already given to the nurse, and then told me to come back next week! Not only was it a waste of my time, he could have potentially been seeing another patient. In the ongoing battle of me being told I need to relax, and my wanting to work the last few days at work, I asked him whether I should carry on working. He told me that should I need to deliver early, relaxing ahead of that was probably the best thing I could be doing.. and so I lost that war! Maternity leave.. here I come!

On Wednesday, Jamie and I went shopping.. as a couple! Don’t get too excited though, it was only food shopping, but it was quite fun. Toby went to Nanny’s for the day (she’s quite the sanity saver) so that we could get on. Do you find though, that if you take your partner shopping, you end up spending an absolute fortune? On things that you would never normally buy? And end up buying random things? We went to Aldi and Jamie spotted some books. Admittedly they look like fantastic books, but they’re not the kind of thing we’d be reading to Toby any time soon. However, at £1.99 we picked them up to put away for Toby at a later date, although Jamie’s been reading them himself and finds them fascinating, and Toby’s already made a start on the colouring pad!

Believe it or not, I was back up the hospital on Thursday, but this time it was to see the physiotherapist. I’ve been seeing her throughout the pregnancy to ensure the weight of the baby isn’t having any effect on my pelvic floor. She had some concerns, but as I told her my conditions hadn’t worsened and that we’d had some growth concerns, she was pretty averse to giving me a support band as she didn’t want to restrict any potential growth. The next time I see her will be September or October as the waiting list for assessments is so long!

I’ve got to be honest. As much as I LOVE taking Toby to Water Babies on a Friday afternoon, it’s such hard work. Getting him changed into his swimming gear is great, but trying to get both of us out of it is a nightmare. The pool has such limited family facilities we normally end up in a cramped cubicle. The lessons themselves are do-able, and it’s nice that I get to take the weight off of my feet for a while.

On Saturday, Toby and I had a relaxing morning and then spent the afternoon/early evening with a friend, who we haven’t seen since Toby’s first birthday! He had a good go on their rather enormous (ok, it wasn’t enormous, but it was big enough) slide, and the trampoline!

It was a pitiful Sunday I’m afraid, grey skies and spats of rain. Toby’s been desperate to go out in the garden as he loves being out there so much. Just the fact he’s able to explore, get some fresh air and get his hands in some mud is great. We don’t really like being cooped up too much!

I’ve had, and am continuing to have, serious issues with logging on to my blog. I keep getting locked out by WordPress telling me I’ve failed too many login attempts and that I should try again after 24 hours. I must’ve spent at least 3 hours in total on the phone to my host to rectify the problem and they’re at a loss, sooo.. any suggestions are appreciated? I’ve whitelisted my IP, have certain plugins installed to help and it’s still an issue!

However, I want to end the post on a high! I’m SO pleased to have reached a few milestones this week! I appear to have rounded up my numbers quite close together! I now have 300 likes on Facebook, 500 likes on Instagram and a HUGE 1500 on Twitter – thank you so much for continuing to read, and support, the blog.
