Unfortunately, it seems Toby has inherited my pasty white skin (poor child). My legs could literally be used as reflectors and I don’t tan whatsoever. I’ve only got to look at the sun and I’m burnt. So, naturally, I’m very conscious about Toby’s skin in the sun.
We’ve been really lucky to have some gorgeous, sunny days in April, and so the sun cream has crept it’s way out of the cupboard! Typically I’d go for the standard bottles of thick white, factor 50 creams, or sprays, that seem to take forever to rub in, and even then you’re left feeling oily and coated. However, this time round I’ve been using The Sun Mousse for kids.
It offers up to 6 hours protection and is super easy to apply to wriggly toddlers. Because it’s a mousse, it doesn’t need a lot of rubbing in. It doesn’t leave a residue like most creams or sprays and it isn’t sticky or oily either. It comes in a lovely little compact bottle with a lid which is great if you’re used to the other one squirting out all over you, especially if it manages to get squashed on the way to the beach!
We’ve been using the factor 30 kids mousse but you can also get factor 50. Adults range from factor 20 to 50. The RRP is £17.99 and you’re able to buy it from Hunter and Health. It’s fragrance free so it won’t be reminding you of holidays any time soon, but it absorbs really quickly and doesn’t lay on top of the skin. I’m hoping to get the adults one as I find that certain sun creams can leave me with a rash, or make me more prone to prickly heat, so I’d love to see if this helps.
