No, I’m not talking about the “grown up” stuff, it’s something even more exciting than that – bed linen – specifically from Yorkshire Linen! We’ve lived in our house just over 2.5 years now and we only really started making changes to make this house our home at the beginning of the year.
While we did manage a few changes to our bedroom, including buying new bed linen, it’s started to look a bit tired as we’ve not really done much else to it. So when Yorkshire Linen got in touch asking if I’d like to have a bit of a bedroom makeover using some of their bed linen, I didn’t say no! It’s one of life’s small pleasures to be able to sink into your bed at night with freshly washed, freshly pressed bed linen, especially after a steaming hot shower.
We did buy new bedroom furniture when we moved in, and I don’t think we’ll be changing that, so it’s down to the little things to make this a bit more homely. It feels quite bare in there as we have nothing on the walls and it’s painted in a French grey, which actually doesn’t make it feel anything like the boudoir I was hoping for – not least because there’s usually a huge pile of clothes on the floor waiting to be put away.
Since it’s coming up to Winter, and the nice thick duvet is going on soon, I thought I’d go with some Winter vibes to overhaul this slightly tired room. I didn’t really have any idea in mind about what I was looking for, so when I started searching the website I was actually quite inspired! There were a few combinations I could’ve come up with but this is what I’ve decided to go for.
1 – Innsbruck Grey Flannelette Duvet Set – currently in their sale at £22.99 (RRP £49.99)
2 – Polycotton Extra Deep Fitted Sheet – currently in their sale at £14.99 (RRP £18.99)
I chose this duvet because I think the grey will work really well in our bedroom. Secondly, I love the ‘Fair Isle’ print. It’s really wintery and I can just imagine snuggling down into this. I also opted for a white sheet because I just think there’s something about a crisp, bright white sheet on a bed, but also because I couldn’t find a grey one as I think this would’ve worked so well with both of my looks.
3 – Stag Blue Duvet from Yorkshire Linen – currently in their sale at £19.99 (RRP £23.99)
4 – Yorkshire Linen Stag Embroidered Cushion Cover – currently in their sale at £5.99 (RRP £10.99)
I am absolutely in love with this stag print duvet. It’s not something I would usually go for, but it just really stood out and so I’ve decided to take the plunge! Teamed with the cushion you can see in their own look, I think the blue will work nicely against the grey in our bedroom.
I’ll have to show you some pictures of what it all looks like once it comes together, especially since I’ll be looking to update our bedroom lamps and adding some pictures and other homely bits to try and set it off.
This is our current look – it leaves a lot to be desired at the moment. Children and toothpaste marks aren’t normally part of the decor either:
Let’s hope that I can turn it into a bit more of a bedroom, rather than just a room we sleep in! I’ll keep you updated!
*I was sent some bed linen in return for this post. All views and opinions are my own.
