Mumbod Monday – Week 6 to 9 and feeling pathetic!

Ugggh, I’ve had such a terrible few weeks with this whole eating well and exercising. I feel like I’ve just been so busy doing.. well, nothing really. Doing nothing seems to have taken up so much of my time and I don’t seem to have time for the gym, or if I do, I don’t feel like spending my time there. The last week has been pretty crappy to and due to various reasons I’ve not been allowed to work out for two weeks and was told to take it easy. I’m not even allowed to do light cardio until Wednesday – how annoying! I was really hoping that at this point leading up to Christmas that I could say I fully deserved to pig out, but I’ve been doing it regardless so now I’m just eating anything and will really focus on it in the New Year, after our skiing holiday.

Instead of exercising I’ve been concentrating on doing things with the boys and trying to get out of the house. With the weather about to turn really cold and horrible, I want to make the most of it while it’s still bearable. However, one good thing has come out of my “doing nothing”. I got an early Christmas present. Yep, I finally got a Fitbit Charge HR. Wahoo! I really wanted one for my birthday but instead Jamie and I treated each other just before Christmas.

It means that I am much more conscious of the steps I’m taking per day (current goal is 10,000). However, I’m actually nowhere near that, averaging at around 7,000, so I really need to up my game. And for a few days last week I didn’t wear it. I took it off for washing up, and then bathing the boys, and then showering and just totally forgot to put it back on.

I’m going to post some pictures of me after Christmas, where I am likely to be bigger than I’d hoped but it’s half my fault, and half not being allowed to actually do anything. I just feel totally pathetic and feel like I’m going backwards rather than making any progress. I did manage to play netball last Tuesday and hopefully I’ll be playing again tomorrow night, so that’s something at least albeit against doctor’s advice. I just can’t sit and do completely nothing. Luckily, we’re going skiing in less than 3 weeks so that’ll be a week of hitting the slopes and hopefully shifting just a little bit of weight from the right places. Hopefully.

You can check out all previous weeks’ progress here.
