I hope you all had a really lovely Easter, although I see that some of you are feeling guilty (but not really) over helping the kids out with their chocolate! Luckily, we didn’t go too crazy this Easter because Toby gets spoiled by lots of other family members, and then we end up eating it all – but I’m allowed, because I’m pregnant, so that’s ok right?
Anyway.. we got a little crafty over the weekend as we all had some time off together and wanted to make the most of it as a family, especially with a newborn due to arrive in around 8 weeks time. I think it’s important for us to do things like this so Toby can appreciate having his mummy and daddy to himself while he can, not that he knows things are going to change!
We started off the Easter holiday by making a rather scrummy white chocolate cheesecake. It obviously had to be Easter themed and so we used a Flake chocolate bar to make some nests, with some mini eggs in the middle, and we had some Malteaster bunnies overseeing the eggs until they got eaten!
We done quite well and managed to make it last until Easter Sunday, when Jamie and I polished it off after lunch! But now it’s gone, and I’m a bit sad. I might have to make another one, just for the sake of it.
On Easter Sunday we made our way over, eventually, to Nanny and Pop’s house to decorate ‘The Easter Tree’ – does anyone else do this? I’d never heard of it before until I met my other half! Come to think of it, I never did Easter crafts or anything when I was younger either, maybe it’s a new thing?
Anyway, we had lots of fun with the eggs, chicks and bunnies being hung on the tree! Pops had gone out specially for Toby in the morning to find the perfect branches..
What do you think of Toby’s creation? He loved finding spaces for all the crafty bits that are hung up, you can see he’s assessing his handiwork very carefully..
What did you get up to this Easter?
