This is going to be a relatively short update, because I’m pretty sure you’ll have seen my midweek post on what’s been happening! However, there are still things that I’d like to write down.
After my midwife appointment on Monday, one of my friends and I decided to take a trip over to Kiddicare in Peterborough, which is only about a 40 minute drive from us, and I think we pretty much wished we hadn’t made the effort. It used to be 3 huge floors filled with so much baby stuff you could be in there for a good couple of hours. Unfortunately, the first floor was the only one that was full of anything.
About 2/3 of the second floor was filled, and the other 1/3 had lots of clearance items which had been generously spaced out as to try and fill the space, and the third floor had completely changed into a World Stores section and there was nothing baby related at all! I did pick up a couple of things for Toby, and something for the new baby though.

We decided, in the end, to go to the other side of a roundabout to a small indoor shopping precinct, which I didn’t even know existed, and got a few nice things from Mothercare and H&M instead. Jamie and I then spent Monday evening getting geared up for the new seasons of Game of Thrones *cue theme tune*.
Even though I was off work this week, Toby still went to his toddler group with Nanny because after what the midwife had said on Monday, I was convinced that I needed to get sorted for a potential early arrival. I managed to do the food shopping and clear up around the house. I probably ended up doing a bit too much because my lower back was killing me by the end of the day.

As you know, Wednesday and Thursday was a write off, but we were back to Water Babies on Friday! Not only did this take my mind off of the scan booked in for later that day, but it was a good way to lighten the physical load I’m carrying around. Toby was really happy to be back too, and was quite happy encouraging all the other kids to splash as much as he was. What can I say? The boy loves being in water. Luckily, the scan went well and blood flow and fluid levels were all normal! Now we just need to wait until Tuesday.
Toby and I spent most of Saturday in the garden, apart from his massive three hour nap in the middle of the day. It was quite chilly with the wind, but sunny nonetheless and I’m not usually one to waste some good weather if we get it. He had a sleepover at Nanny and Pop’s house so Jamie and I could enjoy a meal out for my cousin’s 21st birthday and I still managed to wake up this morning with a nosebleed – oh pregnancy I love you..
The rest of today will be spent preparing yet more things for the baby and, I suspect, cleaning up.. enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone!
Jade x
