AD| Naked Nutrition Whey Protein & Boosting Your Protein Intake With 3 Easy Recipes

Despite being someone who usually calorie counts to keep herself in check, I often struggle to get the macronutrients on point each day. Between juggling work, family, and life in general, I’m always looking for simple and delicious way to give a few of my meals a nutritional upgrade, with a specific focus on protein; especially if I’m on track and managing to lift some weights.

One of the big things that my husband got me into years ago was protein powder. I was always against it, but after seeing how much protein you get while keeping the calories down, it’s been a staple in our house ever since.

Just recently, I’ve been using Naked Nutrition vanilla whey protein, and I could just be converted from my usual brand. It’s made with only a handful of ingredients; grass-fed whey, organic coconut sugar, and natural vanilla flavour. No artificial sweeteners, no weird additives, just pure, high-quality protein.

What’s really made Naked a staple in my cupboard?

Firstly, it’s super easy to incorporate into my everyday recipes. You don’t have to be a bodybuilder downing 50 raw eggs a day, or even a meal-prep pro to enjoy the benefits of more protein.

Secondly, the flavour. You can smell the vanilla as soon as you open it. It doesn’t smell artificial or ‘powdery’.

Lastly it’s not gritty or grainy which is great because, when I use it in my snacks and meals, I don’t feel like I’m chewing on sand. It blends and combines so well!

In fact, to make it easy for you, here are three of my ‘go to’, incredibly easy, protein-packed recipes that incorporate flavour, are convenient and ensure I’m staying on track to hit my protein goals.

Yoghurt, granola and berries

If you’re like me and mornings are hectic with three kids, then a quick and easy breakfast is a must. Overnight oats are great and all, but every man and his dog has a recipe for those, right? I much prefer a bit of yoghurt, with some kind of crunch and something a little sweet.

I don’t know about you but yoghurt on its own is lovely as a dessert, but when I have it as a ‘meal’ I need something to bite into, and I need something to chew so a good crunch is a must.

With Naked whey protein, it’s one of the best, and quickest, ways to kick off your day with a solid dose of protein.

Ingredients:

  • 200g 0% Greek Yoghurt
  • 2 scoops Naked Whey Vanilla
  • Your crunch of choice; granola, some kind of cereal/muesli
  • Fresh berries (or a fruit of your choice)
  • Honey or syrup

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, mix the yoghurt and Naked whey until fully combined
  2. Sprinkle your crunch on top
  3. Add your berries/other fruit
  4. A small drizzle of honey or syrup

With over 25g of protein (thanks to the combination that is whey and Greek yogurt) this breakfast can easily help you get through to lunch without the need for any elevenses, although I don’t usually say no to a little mid-morning snack depending on how early I’ve had to get up.

Vanilla Protein Fruit Smoothie

This is a great afternoon pick-me-up on busy days, especially when summer has hit. Not only is this great to fill you up when you need the food but don’t want to slave away over a cooked meal, it’s also a great way to cool down.

Ingredients:

  • 1 scoop Naked Whey Vanilla
  • ½ frozen banana
  • ½ cup frozen mixed berries
  • ½ cup almond milk
  • A handful of ice

Instructions:

  1. Add all ingredients to a blender.
  2. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  3. Pour into a glass and sip away

This smoothie tastes like a treat but delivers serious nutrition while keeping the calories low too.

Vanilla Protein Pancakes

If my middle one had his way, it’d be pancake day every day! These protein-packed beauties are a Teddy favourite and they’re wonderfully filling too.

Ingredients:

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 scoop Naked Whey Vanilla
  • ¼ cup oat flour/rolled oats
  • ½ tsp baking powder

Instructions:

  1. Blend all ingredients until smooth, or if you like the bananas chunky just mash them in last with the back of a fork.
  2. Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat and pour in small rounds of batter.
  3. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side flipping when bubbles form on the surface.

These pancakes are fluffy, slightly sweet, and packed with over 20g of protein per serving. Serve with fresh fruit and a little drizzle of sauce of your choice. You can’t go wrong with these and the whole family gets their morning protein intake.
