The time has come to expand my autumn/winter wardrobe, especially as breastfeeding is well and truly established. I wrote a post not that long ago saying that you don’t need to spend hundreds of pounds on maternity wear, and that kind of crossed over into breastfeeding. I think if you are clever about the items that you choose you can have ‘capsule’ pieces that will work.
Fashion World
Fashion World recently got in touch to see if I’d like to try some of their autumn/winter range and I was delighted to be able to choose some pieces that I thought would work for me. I was initially a little bit sceptical about the items I’d receive, having never shopped here before, but I spent quite a while choosing items that I thought I needed and that were flexible.
Super Simple Slub
The pieces that I did order have ended up being some of my absolute ‘go-to’ pieces out of ease. My first favourite piece is probably this super simple slub t-shirt in black and grey stripes. It’s not strictly breastfeeding but the fit is absolutely perfect and it’s easy to lift up one side. It’s really comfortable, doesn’t cling and the best bit, if I’m being totally honest, is that it doesn’t need ironing! The quality is superior to some of the other clothes I’ve got and it’s perfect to wear under a cardi.

Long Sleeve Shirt Dress (With Buttons)
My second favourite piece from Fashion World is this long sleeve shirt dress. The material is a little flannel like, so it’s nice and warm which is perfect for the weather which is turning colder, and you can’t beat a piece of clothing if it’s got buttons when it comes to feeding. I love wearing this with some comfy maternity leggings, or tights, underneath.

I tend to team it with some boots I also got from Fashion World. The belt that comes with this dress is great for pulling you in when you want to feel a bit more you and you can wear it as loose or as tight as you like. It does get super creased really quickly through!

I also decided to get a roll neck jumper; not breastfeeding friendly at all, but I wanted something for the colder weather that I could layer up once feeding had stretched out a little, and it works as a lovely base layer under the dress too.
Leopard Print Wrap Blouse
The last thing I got was a wrap leopard print blouse. I thought this would be a great piece to pull to the side if we were out with friends over the festive period and had the baby with us; as it turned out it was more of a pullover piece as the wrapped areas were held together with a stitch.
I’m sure it would’ve been an easy stitch to cut out but I don’t have the confidence to do it, and then if it went wrong I’d not be able to fix it!

Luckily, I did try it on before going out but I’ve not worn it yet purely down to the no access issue. However, it’s a lovely light material and I might take it to my Nan to get her to alter it slightly, and either put a clip or popper in for me. If not, I shall definitely be saving it for a dinner out when we’re on our own.
It looked absolutely gorgeous tucked into some jeans with a detail belt and some heels too. I really love this piece as animal print seems to be very ‘in’ this season too.
Overall I was really impressed with the range that Fashion World had to offer. The delivery was quick and efficient and I felt that everything fitted me quite well. Once I’ve finished breastfeeding I could easily continue to wear these clothes and I’m pretty sure I’ll be wearing them a lot over the coming months.
