There are a number of factors that can affect a child’s growth and development. Aside from the food they eat, the movies they watch, and the teachers they learn from, considering the kids they play with is also important. A child with plenty of friends can easily overcome their hesitations and anxiety to be friends with other children. They easily grow familiar with peers, and tend to be very friendly and approachable.
Their circle of friends, or a social group, can help develop an array of skill sets vital to their personality development. Social groups help develop their verbal and nonverbal skills. This is important because when we talk and deliver a message, only 7% of the message is delivered through the actual words we say. Almost 55% of the message is conveyed through other non-verbal factors such as gestures and facial expressions, while about 38% is derived from tone of voice.
