It’s finally here. My last of the pregnancy “must haves” – I’ll probably do one for post childbirth come to think about it though, so there’s kind of sequel lined up. I can not believe I am in the third trimester, let alone 35 weeks tomorrow. It’s all going/gone quite fast. You can see my first trimester and second trimester must haves if you missed them! These are my ‘mummy-to-be must haves’, and things that have helped keep me sane, from 28 weeks onwards..
PregnancyPillows are the amazing people behind the loveliest pregnancy pillow I’ve ever had the chance to lay on! It’s helped with everything from getting comfortable, to relieving the pain I get from my sciatic nerve, to being a laptop rest and a toddler snuggle.
Speaking of which, I’ve needed so much SLEEP! I’m not a day time napper whatsoever and so haven’t really been napping during the day, but if you get the opportunity you should definitely take it up. I’ve had more early nights than usual and every little helps during this trimester. I’m terribly moody with a little lack of sleep at the best of times! People will tell you, when the baby’s here, to sleep when they sleep – but it’s almost impossible
Incontinence/maternity pads for your bed! You don’t want to be laying there in the middle of the night and have your waters break over your lovely mattress! Luckily enough for me, mine trickled to begin with and eventually had to be broken in hospital. However, they also come in handy for when your milk comes in. You don’t want to ruin a brand new, £400 mattress by leaking breast milk and leaving stains on it do you? I did. They’re so cheap and can be used as disposable changing mats if you have any spares left!
A treat for those toes! Since you probably can’t reach your feet properly anymore, you might as well treat yourself to some last minute “me time”. Pamper those feet and get a nice pedicure, all the midwives will compliment you on your lovely looking toots.
Gaviscon makes the list again! I can’t do without it. If the heartburn sets in, there’s only so much of it I can bear before having to gulp down a couple of spoonfuls of this. The fire is immediately put out.. until I eat another buttery crumpet. Keep it by your bedside at night too, there’s nothing worse than having to come downstairs to take it.
If it’s not too much trouble for your wonderful parter, a frequent massage won’t go amiss. They really help with any water retention, especially in the legs. They can help ease those aches and pains too and they feel good! What more reason do you need? You’re carrying the baby, it won’t hurt for him to get his hands going for a few minutes. Alternatively, treat yourself to a nice pre-natal massage, it’ll probably be the last bit of time you have to yourself to just relax and enjoy something.
Batch cooking. If you haven’t already started, I would suggest stocking your freezer up with some meals for when you and your other half just can’t be bothered. Whip them out, straight into the oven and voila!
Lastly.. pack that hospital bag! She says, the woman who is 35 weeks pregnant tomorrow and has just thrown a few things together. Make sure you have everything, especially those big comfy knickers that you’ll end up living in!
5 weeks to go people.. 5 weeks!

Great post. Glad you’re managing to find time for yourself, the last few weeks of pregnancy are exhausting aren’t they? Especially when you’re already running around after a little one. I hope you manage to get plenty of rest.xx
Great list! I felt like I should have bought shares in Gaviscon, the amount I was chugging by the end. Wishing you a safe, fast and ‘easy’ (haha, you know what I mean) last tri and birth.
