Family | A Wish List For Baby Number Two!

I’ve pretty much got everything I need for baby number two, but that certainly doesn’t stop me scouring the internet for things that I don’t have but probably would really like and making a ‘wish list’. Here are just a few of my favourites!

Yes, I have a ‘Moses’ basket, but wouldn’t it be super amazing and convenient to have one upstairs in the nursery, and one downstairs so I don’t have to lug the whole thing around, especially since I’m having a c-section! If I was going to buy a new one it’d have to be the Moba! It just looks amazing, comes in so many different colours and best of all it’s made in the UK. It’s super contemporary and has lots of great features, and I’d like to be the person people ask ‘where did you get that from?’. Not only that, they’ve just added blankets to their range which are to die for!

Second on my wish list is a snuggle nest called a Poddle Pod which looks absolutely fab for many reasons. My favourite reason, and the one I think I’d use it for most, is baby massage. I loved doing baby massage with Toby, except we usually did it on a towel on the floor. These look perfect to create an area in our home where we can take the baby, and ourselves, to relax and enjoy a bit of bonding time alone. Since this time we will already have an almost 21 month old toddler running around, it’d be nice to just have that calm away, and of course reduce the risk of the new baby being tripped over! Other uses include a place for napping and lounging, sponge baths and nappy changes. These are made in the UK too!

The third thing I’d love is a Shnuggle Bath. Yes, I admit I already have a full sized bath, and even a baby one in the loft, but I genuinely believe that this will help with my c-section recovery since you can bath the baby standing up. It just eliminates any need to lean over anything. It can be on a well supported surface, fully supervised and without me having to lift a thing and I can still bath my own baby. I don’t believe bending over the bath, in any way shape or form, is going to help my c section. There will be times when he will be bathed by his daddy, but I don’t want to miss out on any of that just because I can’t help!

The one big thing I’m seriously considering, for a number of reasons, is a co-sleeper. Again, with a caesarean section, bending down into a Moses basket is not desirable and so I’ve been looking at a couple of options. Essentially, not only will a co-sleeper remove the need for lifting, as it will be completely adjusted to the height of my bed to enable an easy sliding movement, it will also act as an aid to ensure that I get out of bed properly! I can use it to push myself into a good position and use my upper body strength, thus taking the strain off of my core muscles, which in turn do not put any strain on my section wound.

The one at the top of my wish list is the ‘3 in 1 SnuzPod’ from The Little Green Sheep which acts as a co-sleeper, a stand alone crib and has a removable rocking bassinet for use around the home.

The second is the Chicco ‘Next 2 Me’ bedside crib. One excellent feature of this is that it comes with a handy travel bag, so you can take it with you wherever you go.

The last is the ‘Baby Bay’. Once your baby has outgrown this as a bedside sleeper, with the help of accessories, this can be transformed into a high chair, bench, desk, chair, changing table for dolls, a table, travel cot or playpen.

These are the ‘big bits’ on my wish list, but I will do one shortly on the little ‘extras’ that I love! Is there any “luxury” item you’d add to this list? Or is there something you wish you’d seen before having your little one? Let me know below!

    • Ooh Ceri they’re just so lovely aren’t they? What colour did you go for? I love the plainer dove and cornflour ones, but if I feel a bit edgy I do love the tangerine as well! xx

  • I’m like you, number 2 so have a lot of stuff, but have the urge to buy stuff! I looked at the Chicco crib, but after reading reviews was put off as its awkward to take down side when attached to bed. Have hired a Bednest instead.

I need a bathing solution as we don’t have a bath, only a shower and will likely end up having a section again so need something that is easy to move etc. Looking at the http://www.tummytub.co.uk/
