The whole of this week has been one big mad rush for me. In between trying to get organised in the world of ‘Raising the Rings’, work, a social life and housework, we’re getting ready to pack up our kitchen as work starts on our new one tomorrow! We’re basically moving in with the in-laws for two weeks while the work is done as living here with a 16 month old and no oven/hob/microwave would be just short of impossible -not to mention all the dust.
At the beginning of this week I had a blood test to check my iron and thyroid levels, which came back all within normal levels, which is great news, but still doesn’t explain my angular cheilitis this time round! Thankfully I’m not suffering with it anymore though. I also picked up a rather lovely nursing pillow for £4.00 from a Facebook selling page, considering this particular one retails at £25.00 I’d say it was a bargain.
I was so proud of Toby this week. It seems the Water Babies lessons are really paying off. During the underwater swim he started to kick his legs, when all he’s done before is kind of just float towards me. His favourite is the big lilypad they use though, he will force himself off of me to get to it first.
Other than that it’s all about project “pack up the kitchen” and getting excited! We’re merging two rooms together to make it into a kitchen/diner. We’re moving the hob to the over end of the kitchen in order to knock the wall out, but at the same time bricking up our side door. I can’t wait to actually have some working prep space and plug sockets in the right places. We’ve been in our house almost 2 years and all we’ve really done so far is give the main rooms a lick of paint. The only problem is, now we’ve started one room, I want to do them all! At this point it’s either decorate the house or get married… a nice carpet in the living room or a lovely wedding dress..
In extremely exciting news, in case you hadn’t noticed, I finally took the plunge and went self hosted. I finally feel like I’m getting somewhere and think this will open up a whole new side of blogging for me. I am, by no means, an expert – I think I probably need one of those “Blogging for Dummies” guides. But anyway, this is my fourth blog post of the week and I’m finding it much easier with this editorial calendar plugin I downloaded. I’ve even planned what I’ll be blogging about for the coming week – which is very exciting pour moi.
Last week I told you I needed a list for a list for a list, and I’ve finally started listing those lists and hope that, in the next two weeks, I’ll have devised a plan of action for when we move back home! Fingers crossed we don’t start annoying the in-laws, they won’t need to see us again for ages, although I’m sure that after spending two weeks there, they’ll start having withdrawal symptoms the day we move back home.
This coming week’s goals are
- Get some of these drafted posts scheduled for publishing
- Start shopping for new kitchen bits
- Find a table and chairs & sideboard
- Stop looking on Next for clothes!
I hope you’ve all had a lovely week, I’ve seen lots of you have had snow – we haven’t, which I’m quite pleased about since it’s not that fun to drive in, or walk in if you’re pregnant.
Have a good next week. Happy Sunday!
J x
