Project 365 – Week 3

Week 3 feels like a complete write off!

We had our kitchen completely obliterated first thing Monday morning, you’ve never seen anything like it. We’re knocking through into our dining room to open up the space, and by the end of the day we had no units, floor, ceiling.. or wall! Very exciting times.

We’ve been living with Jamie’s parents all week, and are likely to be doing so until we have some sort of cooking facility available to us. It’s quite hard going from having a whole house to yourself and your own space, to living in someone else’s but they won’t have to put up with us for too much longer! I think they secretly like having Toby around though, especially as he went and jumped on them on Sunday morning.

Nothing really happens for me on a Tuesday or Wednesday as those are the days I tend to work. However, Toby has a day with Nanny on a Tuesday and they go to a toddler sensory group not far from here. I think it was an Indian theme this week, but he’s previously enjoyed everything from teddy bears’ picnic to digging up dinosaurs. He’s usually completely knackered after the group and Nanny gets a well deserved rest and lunch break before he wakes up to wreak havoc in the afternoon.

Uncle Joshy and I took Toby to Farmer Fred’s on Thursday. It’s about a 10 minute drive and it’s a big soft play area. In the Summer, they have a little outdoor farm you can take the kiddies to with an outdoor playground and little ride on tractors too – I’m pretty sure he’ll be able to enjoy it a lot more this year. He couldn’t get enough of going down the slides and Mummy even let him brave one on his own; not the big one though as even that was a bit scary for me as it’s so steep.

I don’t feel like I’ve had a lot of time for blogging or friends this week, which is terrible. My mind has been so caught up on keeping up with the kitchen, entertaining Toby or (oops!) watching a bit of Silent Witness. However, Toby and I were featured on Mothercare’s ‘#babyselfie’ collage on Tuesday – can you spot us?

We’ve also been reminiscing about how different Toby is compared to around this time last year. We made a calendar for the Nannies as a Christmas gift and each month is a picture of what Toby looked like in that month the previous year.

And last, but not least, we had a very exciting delivery. I ordered Toby some new toys from Sensory Toy Warehouse and I found these cute little light up bath toys. As soon as they hit the water they’re flashing away. I’ve heard they don’t last very long but they were cheap enough for a quick thrill. Toby loves the disco bath, and it’s one thing to distract him when we’re washing his hair!

I feel like week 4 might be a bit more spectacular!

What’ve you been up to this week?
