Everyone loves getting post, right? Unless it’s bills! Well, even if nobody else does, I really like waiting for the postman as sometimes I never know what I’m going to get sent to the door. Sometimes even a bit of junk mail can turn into a good read, a good idea or a takeaway, so don’t be too hasty before you throw away those unsolicited leaflets. However, one of the things I’ve received has been a letterbox hamper.
Now, I’ve seen these around for a while and I’ve always wondered if they’re actually as good as people say. There are so many different ones to choose from – flowers, food and toiletries for starters – but this time mine is all cheese related, which is just as well really since I now have a pretty cool cheeseboard to whip out.

Letterbox Hamper
I always wondered if a letterbox hamper would truly fit through an actual letterbox. Not everyone has the same size letterbox and if, like me, you only have a postbox then it might be a bit of a challenge.
While my postbox wasn’t big enough for this particular hamper, my lovely postman did bring it to the door. I’m pleased to let you know though that, if you do have a standard sized letterbox on the door, this will fit comfortably through it.

It’s not bulky or particularly weighty and as there’s only edible things inside nothing was broken. The packaging is also cardboard which means we can recycle it – hurray!
Inside The Hamper
Usually the title of the hamper gives away an idea of what might be inside. My ‘cheese lover’ letterbox hamper from Giftpup consists of items that work well with cheese. There is no actual cheese, these are purely accompaniments as I’m sure cheese would need to be kept cool, and thus it would add to all the packaging and that means it probably wouldn’t fit through your letterbox.

So, cheese lovers. “What actual items are in the box?”, I hear you ask. We have;
- Fine Cheese Co. Crackers in three flavours; rosemary, chive and olive oil.
- A small wooden cheeseboard and knife set
- Oloves olives in lemon and rosemary (30g)
- Nib Nibs pesto mini breadsticks (14g)
- Dormen baked nuts and raisins (50g)

This is the perfect starting set up for a cheeseboard. You just need to add the cheese, a few pickles and any other fresh nibbles like grapes.
I love that all of these items aren’t generic, bog standard things you can pick up. They have a little bit of luxury about them and why wouldn’t you want something a bit extra at Christmas?
Ordering
Ordering from Giftpup is really simple and there’s nothing unusual about the ordering process. Personalisation is available; you’re allowed 3 lines of text, each of which has 35 characters available. You can input this on the website and even preview it before ordering.

The only thing I would say is that the message is on the back of the delivery note, it wasn’t inside the box so just be mindful of that. You’re able to choose a separate billing and delivery address which makes it ideal for sending these out as gifts.
Final Thoughts On Getting A Letterbox Hamper
I love that these gifts can be novel and unexpected. From the outside, they look like a normal parcel but on the inside they’re full of goodies and treats. They’re easy to send as gifts to those who are both close to home and far away.

A letterbox hamper can be super convenient because all the contents are put together by someone else and they’re not over the top priced either. There are a couple of different sizes available and I think they’re just a great thing to receive.
