Top Five | My Favourite Watches

With my birthday, and Autumn, coming up there’s nothing I like more than a little window shopping and this time it’s watches. I used to wear a watch all the time quite a few years ago, but now I barely wear one if ever. I haven’t thought about wearing one for ages, although I have occasionally been seen with my Fitbit on, but just recently I thought it might be time for be to get a new timepiece. So, here are my top five favourite watches of the moment.

TAG Heuer Aquaracer

Oh my life, I think I have wanted a TAG watch ever since I can remember. My auntie Jodie has one that I’ve pored over so many times, but I’ve never had the chance to own one. Aside from the fact that they’re ridiculously expensive, they’re so pretty! I just find them so classic, hard wearing and generally nice to look at! Maybe I’ll have to skip a couple more birthdays until my 30th and then treat myself? I love the clean look of this watch; the stainless steel and then the white face with the two tone running through the strap. In love!

Fitbit Charge HR

I’ve already got one of these and although it’s not technically a watch, it does tell the time which is more or less what we want from a watch, other than just having some arm candy. Obviously we all know what a Fitbit does, right? My favourite bit has to be the calorie tracker on this, purely because it means if I’ve burnt enough calories then I can eat more food. And I love food. I got this at the end of last year and still use it now, although not as much as I should. Back on track to shred for the wedding dress, but I tell myself that every day! Eek.

Rolex Watches

Ok, I know what you’re thinking! Totally unaffordable, right? Well, I’m not exactly a blogging millionaire yet but that doesn’t mean I can’t get one. A company called Xupes actually have a website where you can buy a second hand Rolex – say what?! I’d probably opt for one with a leather strap just so it’s not too over the top and showy. My favourite one on the website at the moment is the Datejust 18k yellow gold 6517 – so pretty!

They’re a brand who have forged a reputation for producing some seriously good watches and who wouldn’t want a Rolex? They’re unbelievably good with a great resale value if you decide you want to upgrade and they’re mostly nice to look at if you can afford to treat yourself!

DKNY Mesh Watch

I’m so sad that I can’t find a good picture of this watch to show you. My aunties all chipped in and got it for my 18th birthday as a keepsake and it was my pride and joy for years. That is until the mesh strap started to become untangled and it looked as though someone had taken a bite out of it. I asked so many shops if there was any way they could repair it and they couldn’t without replacing the whole watch, but by that time it was out of warranty/guarantee and I’d have to pay for a whole new one.

I do still own the watch but I believe it’s somewhere in a memory box, probably ticking away the minutes. It’s such a shame they were discontinued as I’d have loved to replace it with exactly the same one. I remember it covered my wrist tattoo really well when I first started working in a bank as I was worried I’d get the sack if they knew I had them! I have this watch to thank for keeping my job, although they didn’t mind in the end!

A Classic Casio

I remember crazing my parents for one of these when I was younger. I never got one and I’m not sure I’d even be able to get the exact one I want now, although it’s pretty similar to this one from the Watch Superstore.

I’d still love one, especially for timing my run, but mostly just to look old school, retro and a bit cool. It might just take the edge of my somewhat mumsy outfits that I’ve gotten into the habit of wearing. It just shows that I’m still stylish underneath it all and that I’m not always covered in toothpaste, milk and dribble!

Jord Watch

Ok, so technically I suppose it’s top six, but I couldn’t miss out a Jord watch! I’ve never had a wooden watch but some of these are just so beautiful. Each watch is handcrafted but, by far, my favourite has to be the dark sandalwood and smoke one which currently has a backorder so is clearly very popular. The hours look as though they’re set by rosewood bars and this is probably one of my favourite details. So pretty!

As far as I know these aren’t available to buy in the UK, they have to be bought from America!

What are your favourite watches? Do you have any that you have your eye on? Ones that are on your wishlist, or timepieces from times gone by that you wish you could have back?
