Down The Aisle | 16 Weeks To Go

With only 16 weeks to go to the wedding, I’ve not really been following any kind of timeline about what I need to be getting sorted. I feel like I’ve done all that I can for now, but I know there are so many more little bits I really need to get a wriggle on with. So, what have I done, and what still needs to be done?

All the big things are booked and deposits have been paid, as far as I know. So this is really just a checklist kind of post for me so that now, week by week, I can start ticking things off. I really want the planning behind this wedding to be as stress free as possible, but it’s just keeping up with what has, or hasn’t, been done.

I haven’t been keeping track with this in a wedding planner or a Monica style folder because we booked it in January and everything needed to be done pretty quickly! And since I have a blog, what better way to keep up with myself, than on here?

Things To Do!

• Sort out my flowers! Yes, I know! Don’t panic, I’ve booked the bouquets and the flower arch. However, the table arrangements and other flowers we are doing ourselves with the help of some of our family. I’ve emailed the wholesaler but haven’t heard back. MUST CHASE!
• Chase cake and macaron samples. We’re serving replica cake slices for the wedding breakfast dessert and we’re having macarons as favours. We’ve not yet had samples of these, so I really need to chase to ensure they perfect. In case you were wondering our macaron flavours are raspberry ripple with a white chocolate filling and a black forest macaron with dark chocolate filling. Yummy, right?
• Get a veil. I need a full length veil because of the detail on the back of my dress and I’d hate for nobody to see it because it’s just so beautiful. (Obviously, I can’t show you incase hubby-to-be reads this)
• We need to choose music! Not evening music, but music for coming down the aisle. I’m really not a fan of the wedding march, so I’m on the hunt for something that could replace that. I also need exit music, music for during the canapes and drinks as well as possibly some background music for during the wedding breakfast.

• We need to finalise our ceremony options. Are we having readings, or not? What words do we want use? We can’t have, and don’t want, hymns as we’re not getting married in a place of worship.
• Do we really need schedules printed out for everyone? I’m thinking maybe just get a chalkboard or something.
• Speaking of chalkboards, I need a couple of those too for our selfie booth snaps!
• Confirm a list of photos we’d like with the photographer. Oh and pay her!
• Gifts to be handed out to both the groom’s and bridal parties.
• Make sure we have everything for the table arrangements – so far the log slices have been ordered, the jars are in progress, the cutlery and glasses are all set, but are we missing anything? We’ll be having a disposable camera on each table and activity packs for the kids too.
• Selfie booth props! So far I can only find things on sticks, hit me with some cool wedding prop ideas people.
• Choosing how to present the table plan. A ladder, an easel or a mirror?

That’s it for now, but as we get nearer to the date I’m sure I’ll be panicking with loads of stuff to do. What else am I forgetting? EEK!

By the end of this I will be the happiest woman in the world, married to my best friend and love of my life, with our two beautiful boys by our side. I can not wait!
