Crabtree & Evelyn are an international company renowned for their stunning gifts, yummy foods and divine fragrances. When I was much younger I used to associate Crabtree & Evelyn with really old people as I’d only ever known them for their hand creams but oh boy do I stand corrected now I’m a little bit older!
I got to speak to Crabtree & Evelyn at the Christmas in July event from earlier this year where I got a huge sneak peek at what they’d be releasing for Christmas this year. I got to see some of the most wonderful stocking filler ideas, try some of their Christmas food and I even got to go round sniffing some of the most delectable candles I’ve ever come across.
Crabtree & Evelyn Christmas Candle Trilogy
I love candles throughout the year but love to switch up the fragrances according to the season. Crabtree & Evelyn’s Christmas trilogy is quite honestly all the smells of Christmas rolled into three, 67g candles.
This isn’t one of your traditional Christmas scents but it is very intoxicating. It’s very light and quite savoury with a sweet note here and there and, while it’s not necessarily traditional, it is super festive! I’d love to have this one burning in the kitchen or on the table after the dinner has been served.
This candle is definitely one of the more traditional smells of Christmas. It’s spicy, rich, warm but has notes of frozen lemon and smoky incense which keep it beautifully fresh. It’s one of those smells that you don’t mind walking into, it’s one that you want to fill a room with. If Christmas for you is a mantelpiece with a thick, bushy garland hung atop a toasty, warm fire then this scent is everything you need and more.
Red Berry & Fir
Crabtree & Evelyn have hit the nail on this head with this show stopping scent. It’s the absolute epitome of Christmas. With base notes like sandalwood mixed with fresh notes like apple, mint and lemon you could be forgiven for being transported to somewhere a lot more snowy than the UK with this scent.
You can smell the fir trees and the berries and it really evokes all the feelings that go with Christmas. Now you just need to wrap up warm and get yourself a hot chocolate. Complete and utter Christmas bliss.
The packaging on all three candles is very luxurious and festive and they come in a gorgeous presentation box too. I was so happy with the smells of each one when I got them in the post that I’ve since repeatedly shoved them under my husband’s nose to make sure he smells them and appreciates just how stunning they really are. He is not a candle man but he did agree that they were really, really nice.
I don’t usually like to spend too much on candles because usually I burn through them quite quickly but these each have a burn time of 18 hours and the smells alone are worth the £42 price tag. If you’re looking for a fragrant gift this year, this is definitely for you, or if you want to divide these into the stockings of your loved ones then they’re the perfect size for that too!
