My Zoflora Spring Clean

As I’m sure you will all very well know, as much as my house is usually a tip – it’s quite impossible to stay on top of absolutely everything as well as have a social life, down time and a 19 month old to run around after with another one on the way – I do like to clean!

Just recently I was sent a sample of Zoflora to use around the house with my cleaning. For me, it’s something quite a lot of the older generation tend to use – someone like my Nan’s age and, that as much as I’d seen it in the shops, I’d never picked it up. Whether that’s because my mum never used it round the house, or I’d never really taken much notice of what it can actually do, I wasn’t sure.

I wondered if I could be converted to some “old school” cleaning. Admittedly, I was a bit apprehensive and I’m so used to using the same cleaning products but I have to say the Zoflora is amazing. I kept it to my family bathroom, en-suite, downstairs toilet and kitchen. These are the rooms I usually like to have that “clean” smell, and the others I like to have a more homely smell and so tend to use candles, a nice air freshener or a scented polish.

The bathrooms, admittedly, really did need a good clean, and just one week later they still have a nice fresh smell to them. At first, I thought the smell was quite overpowering and I was so worried I wasn’t going to like it, but once it’s been diluted and it’s on the surfaces, it smells lovely. It isn’t heavy and won’t give you a headache. I’ve done a little bit of housekeeping in there as I go along, but generally I can still smell the ‘Springtime’ scent of Zoflora, which makes a change. I used it top to bottom, from the tiles on the wall, to the tiles on the floor.

Our bottle was 120ml, which you might think doesn’t seem like a lot, but it’s super concentrated. You only need one part Zoflora to 40 parts water and you’re ready to go. I decided to put mine into a spray bottle so that I could easily coat the surfaces I was going to clean. You can use it undiluted, but only for super whiffy sinks, toilet bowls and drains. Once diluted, the solution does go cloudy. You’re not doing it wrong!

Not only does it help to eliminate odours, it’s also a disinfectant. This is going to be particularly useful when we start needing to the clean the potty out. (Yes, you can use it on potties).

Zoflora have an extensive range of fragrances so you’re sure to find one that suits you! You can buy Zoflora from most supermarkets and even Wilkinson, and at around £1.42 for 120ml it’s a much more cost effective way of cleaning and will last you a lot longer too.

  • I chose the Springtime scent one as well, and I love it! Although despite my big spring clean when I did my post, it looks like a hovel again now! Arghh Zoflora time again I suspect. Fab post,
