It’s been a mixture of good and bad this week.
Monday started with a midwife appointment. I thought my appointment was at 11, so I turned up 5-10minutes early, only to look and see that my appointment wasn’t until 11.30, and then she was running 15 minutes late – great. It wouldn’t be so bad but I had Toby with me this week and had to keep him entertained. Off to the shop we went to buy a ball to keep him amused in the corridor.
When I eventually went in, the appointment went mostly well. She told me I’d only grown 1cm in 2 weeks (again) but as I already had a scan booked, she wouldn’t refer me further and then decided she didn’t need to see me anymore as my appointment would have fallen just before I’m due to have this baby out! Eek – not long to go now..
Later that afternoon, while Toby was having some lunch I decided to unpack the brand spanking new Cosatto Woop I’ve been sent for review. First impressions are good and I can’t wait to test it out with Toby. Hopefully we’ll get a decent spell of weather and then we can go for a bit of a walk. It’ll also be good for getting out and about with the baby when he’s here. After that, the sun got out for a little while and Toby wanted to go outside (I’m sure he’d live outside if he could). He managed to fall over in both vegetable patches, one after the other, and like the great mum I am, I took a picture before actually helping him up! Don’t tell me you haven’t done it!
On Tuesday, Toby went to Nanny’s for the day, went to Toddler Sense and the theme this week was transport. I stayed at home and cleaned, though you wouldn’t be able to tell at the minute! I did manage to clear some room in the garage as it was getting seriously cluttered and we’ve got lots of boxes to be recycled.
The car went for a service on Wednesday and cost us a bomb! We knew it needed a few things doing to it.. but £800 later better have done the trick! Not entirely impressed that something which isn’t a legal requirement cost so much. There are better ways to spend that sort of money. I had a hospital appointment later that day and got to see this little man on the scanning screen again (for the last time before I actually meet him face to face!) and then Jamie and I went into town to pick some fabric for our kitchen blinds, that we’ve been meaning to get sorted since February/March (oops!).
A lazy day Thursday is just what we needed. Plenty of mooching around and snuggles on the sofa was just what the doctor ordered.
Friday morning was horrendous. Toby had a hospital appointment (he’s fine, nothing major) but he had to have a blood test. And I’m talking full on needle in the inner elbow kind of blood test. Trying to restrain him, while trying not to cry was hard. He got so worked up and the nurses had to fight to keep him still, it was absolutely awful. He did get a Mr Men book out of it though and was quite happy for the rest of the day, which is just as well because I ached all over and couldn’t move properly.
Saturday wasn’t as bad but for some reason Toby hated Water Babies. Whether it was because he was in the pool with Jamie rather than me, or whether it’s because we were at a new pool, or because I was sitting poolside watching him, he hated it. He was fine for the first 10 minutes and then completely inconsolable and we had to leave the lesson early.. which is fine, but it’s £13ish a lesson, which is a lot of money for 30 mins! I’m going to give it a miss next week as this is going to be Toby and Daddy’s Saturday morning ritual.
And Sunday was finally here.. THE BABY SHOW! I’m going to be writing up a separate post about that, but it was, by far, my most favourite out of the 3 I’ve attended. My mind was so fuzzy last night that I couldn’t even think about anything and opted for an early night! I have so many good things coming up on the blog for you too.

P.S How cute is this picture of Toby at Holme beach from last Sunday? Nanny and Pop took him out for a kick about on the sand.

Lovely post Hun, can’t believe next time you see your baby he will be in your arms, so excited for ya! Toby is just adorable, gorgeous pics! Hope all went well at his appointment, I hate when Rebecca has bloods done it’s just so tough to watch! Look forward to your baby show post xx
Eek, it’s SO exciting isn’t it? The sooner the better for me. Thanks lovely, I think he’s cute but I am his mummy haha. The worst thing is I wasn’t just watching, I was having to help pin his arm down, so heart wrenching 🙁 xx
