I’ve recently been trying out some products at Toby’s bath time from Earth Friendly Baby, who became part of the Lansinoh family in 2011. If you’ve never heard of them before, because I hadn’t, they produce ethical, natural and organic products that are gentle on the skin.
Earth Friendly Baby products are free from the typical ‘nasties’, such as SLS and parabens and best of all there’s nothing artificial in terms of colour or fragrances. All ingredients are naturally sourced where possible too, which is great because it means it’s coming from somewhere sustainable. None of this range is tested on animals either.
On first opening, the packaging was really good. The purple lid makes it stand out on the shelf for me, and the labelling isn’t gender specific, which isn’t something people should look at, but have been known to do! It’s beautifully simple which, for me, reflects the nature of the product. The packaging is also completely eco-friendly!
I was sent the Earth Friendly Baby ‘Soothing Chamomile Shampoo & Bodywash’. Known for it’s anti-inflammatory and soothing properties, the chamomile has been mixed with grapefruit. This gives it a really lovely smell, but it’s not overpowering. It has just the right amount and is really subtle. We didn’t need to use a lot on Toby’s hair, which is actually quite thick, probably a squirt about the size of a 50 pence piece; this was enough for me to wash the top half of his body too.
I can definitely see this lasting a while, providing that the other half doesn’t get his hands on it, although he’s usually quite good with the rationing!
We were also sent the ‘Soothing Chamomile Bubble Bath’. As well as the chamomile being blended with grapefruit, as in the shampoo and body wash, this has also been infused with a nice citrus orange. Probably one of my favourite smelling bubble baths ever. Again, it doesn’t smell artificial and it’s lovely to get those ‘citrussy’ hints when you’re running the bath.
As soon as this goes in the running water, the bubbles appear! I used slightly less than the recommended amount of two capfuls and it makes more than enough bubbles for Toby to give himself a bubble beard! It’s not a thick bubble bath, slightly runnier than others, but you still don’t need to use a lot!
I really like these products, although feel that they are a little on the expensive side for me personally. They cost £4.25 and £5.99 from Boots but are available from lots of other retailers including Tesco, John Lewis, Amazon and Ocado, ranging in price.
Other Earth Friendly Baby products in the range include body lotion, massage oil and aloe vera wet wipes and some products come in a variety of scents; calming lavender and happy mandarin, which I expect smell just as beautiful as these do!
