Review | OXO Tot 2-in-1 Go Potty

Following on from the start of Toby’s potty training journey, OXO Tot were kind enough to send us their 2-in-1 Go Potty to put to the test. And we’ve sure been testing it. Admittedly, we haven’t had any successful wees on this potty just yet but it’s still been brilliant.

I am a believer in that if they see something, like a potty, they’re more likely to ask to use it. Our first potty basically stayed in his bedroom and so he’s never really made the connection of using it when he needs the toilet. However, since it’s been downstairs and in sight, Toby has been saying he needs a wee and a poo, even when he doesn’t actually need to go, and it’s so he can sit on the potty. He makes this cute little ‘trying’ face when he’s on it so it’s great to know he’s made the connection with it.

The OXO Tot 2-in-1 Go Potty has been designed for standalone use, but it also transforms into a toilet seat that toddler’s can fit on without falling half way in to the bowl. It has a handy shield, which we definitely need with Toby, although he does know he needs to point it down anyway.

What Comes In The Box?

The OXO Tot 2-in-1 Go Potty comes with a travel bag, which is handy if you’re going to take it out and about. The potty basically folds flat so it takes up little to no room at all, I supposed you’d call it compact. Also included are your first three disposable bags with absorbent pads for when it’s in use as a standalone potty. A carrier bag with something to soak up any contents will work just as well as the included disposable ones.

How Easy Is It To Use?

Really easy. The potty has two buttons which you click in and these allow you to choose whether it’s totally folded up, whether you need it to have its legs or whether it spreads its wings to become a toilet seat. The disposable bags tuck into the rubber holds at the sides and even when Toby was using it these didn’t come free. One thing I didn’t really like is that the disposable bag goes over the actual seat so Toby was effectively sitting on the bag on the seat. I’d quite like to see something that can be tucked in underneath the seat.

When used as a toilet seat, the potty is really easy to clean, no little crevices or cracks that you need to clean out. It doesn’t fit the toilet seat totally snug, but since every toilet is different it’s best to find the best fit for it. I found our best fit was slightly towards the back. It doesn’t move when it’s in place which I thought it might have done, but I was pleasantly surprised when it didn’t.

Anything Else I Should Know?

The OXO Tot 2-in-1 Go Potty comes in 3 colours; aqua, raspberry and green. It’s a superb aid if you want to make the transition from potty to toilet. Equally, if you do take it out and about it’s more likely that your toddler will feel comfortable doing their business if it’s something from home because of the familiarity.

After seeing his big brother trying out the potty a few times, Teddy wanted to have a go and I wasn’t going to tell him no. Toby wasn’t a fan of him sitting on there though and tried to yank him off several times.

So is it worth buying? Without a doubt, yes. It’s portable, light and super handy as well as acting as a potty and a toilet seat. You won’t get that from a normal potty! We loved it, and if you want to win your own then I have a chance right here! The Rafflecopter entry system is below..
