It’s Christmas and of course it’s time to bring out the Christmas gift sets, how exciting! Amphora Aromatics have some really lovely gift sets and I’ve been lucky enough to review their ‘Helping Hands Kit‘.
I immediately loved the packaging. Crisp and clean and I love the smooth inverted arch at each end, it’s certainly not your standard box. Upon opening it’s filled with those lovely, ruffly strings of crumpled tissue paper that you’d expect to find at the bottom of a hamper but it adds a really lovely gift-like touch.
The first thing in the set is the ‘Peppermint and Ginger Uplifting Liquid Soap’. I found the smell quite overpowering at first, especially the peppermint. I didn’t really smell the ginger coming through so much either. However, having said that, once you’ve actually washed your hands with it, the smell is long lasting and is actually quite pleasant as it’s been toned down by the water. It’s quite fresh and it’s usually the first thing I can smell as I walk into the downstairs cloakroom.
The second thing in the gift set is the ‘Almond and Sandalwood Moisturising Hand Cream’. I don’t usually use hand creams but in the Winter my hands tend to get quite chapped and very dry, especially between my thumb and forefinger. I actually quite like the smell of this, the sandalwood is beautiful and very well balanced. The texture is perfect, not overly thick or runny. You don’t need to use a lot and it left my hands incredibly soft. I’d even go so far as to say that this could be a full body lotion.
