Review | Enchanted Forest and Friends T-Shirt

I’m probably a bit late to all this kid’s fashion stuff as I’ve always been a “buy what you like and wear what you feel comfortable in” kind of girl, and I’ve carried that on with Toby. However, if there’s one thing I do like, it’s having something different to everyone else around this town! We have the standard shops and our nearest (decent) shopping centre is about 40 miles away, so unless I shop online or travel about an hour (yes, an hour’s drive for something that should only take about 40 minutes – damn these Norfolk roads and their tractors) lots of people always seem to have the same thing.

So when I was given the opportunity to review an item of kid’s clothing from Enchanted Forest and Friends, I absolutely jumped at the chance! After looking at their website, their range isn’t extensive, but it is limited edition, and what they do have are some really gorgeous products. I didn’t get to pick what I ordered so that was even more of a surprise, and I like surprises!

Enchanted Forest and Friends is a new and current children’s brand. Their ethos is fantastic – who doesn’t love to get out and have fund adventuring with their kids, and if you can mix that with creativity and learning, you’re surely on to a winner.

Through the door came a simply packaged boys t-shirt. (While I love pretty things, packaging is something I have a real issue with because some companies really do use it unnecessarily, Enchanted Forest and Friends keep it simple.) The colours are really vibrant and fresh, perfect for the Spring/Summer season. This was sized as 18-24m (the clothes start at 18 months and continue up to 5 years), and was very true to size – which I was very pleased about. I often pick things up only to find they are absolutely massive for Toby and the next size down is way too small or wouldn’t last long. I love the breton stripe, it’s almost nautical which I hear isn’t going out of fashion any time soon!

The little fox’s name is ‘Zed’, though there are a range of characters you could choose from including ‘Miss Bun Bun’, ‘Humbellina Bumblee Bee’, ‘Sirrell Squirrel’ and ‘Bertie Blue Tit’. Zed, as you can see, is quite nosey and pops out the top of the pocket on the t-shirt. You can follow each character on the website, as they all have their own profiles. A great opportunity to make the clothing a bit more interactive, and it gets the kids involved with picking their clothes if they’re a bit fussy.

I wanted to check out just how ‘adventure’ friendly this was and so I picked a day when we were off to an indoor play centre to put it on Toby. I showed him Zed on the front and told him he would be coming with us today as he wanted to play too. It also gave me a chance to see how it held up against Toby’s constant movements; running, jumping and sliding around on the big climbing frame. I was really impressed. It didn’t seem too tight anywhere and the material was lovely and flexible when he was on the move.

Another great thing about this t-shirt is that it washes SO well. After it had finished drying it didn’t need ironing at all, which is great for parents who don’t iron, or who don’t want to increase their already massive pile of it! It hadn’t stretched out or faded anywhere either, which is always a bonus – occasionally some things I buy start to look really worn or misshapen within the first couple of washes.

If you want to check out their range, head over to Enchanted Forest and Friends – they do clothes for boys and girls. They even have a cute little Zed backpack that the kids will absolutely love wearing if you don’t want to carry around their rubbish in your handbag!

It really is a child orientated brand, designed with the active child in mind and we were really impressed! Now… I just need to stock up!
