Tonight I’m blogging because I’ve been nominated for the ‘One Lovely Blog Award’ by the lovely Karen over at Crafty Mama. Any nomination, for me, is very humbling because it makes me realise that people must genuinely enjoy what I write. Not only that, it’s nice to get recognised for doing something you love from the friends that you make. For people starting out (I still see myself as a newbie – but I’m learning everyday) blogging can feel like quite the climb, especially if you want to make it a living, but there are so many lovely communities out there, and it’s just knowing about them that can make all the difference. So thank you, Karen, for this lovely award – I shall wear my badge with pride.
So, here are the 7 facts about me that you may, or may not, probably already know. You’ll find my nominations for the ‘One Lovely Blog Award’ at the bottom of the page.
1. I’m not a massive fan of my middle name. I don’t even really want to tell you, but I’m going to. Charmaine. There, I said it. It’s just rubbish. I’m not even sorry I don’t really like it that much.
2. I absolutely can not bear to be cold. I’d rather be a bit too warm than have to layer up. I’ve been pregnant through both seasons and I would definitely rather wear a maxi dress than 10 layers and a jumper over a pregnant belly.
3. I have a younger sister, Jordan, and two younger brothers, Taylor and Michael.
4. I didn’t want to have children until I was about 28. They just weren’t in my plans. I wanted to have a home, a decent car, go on holidays and just enjoy my early 20s. Bit of a shock when I found out I was pregnant at 23 then..
5. I’ve got one tattoo on my inner right wrist. It’s of 3 stars and I’d probably get it removed if given then opportunity. I got it done about a month after my 18th birthday because I’d always wanted one. I wouldn’t say I regret it, but I definitely wish I’d thought it through a bit more. It’s by no means huge, or in your face, but it is there. I have since wanted to get more tattoos but have either never got round to doing it, or changed my mind if it came close to booking it.
6. My favourite film is probably Cruel Intentions. Hello Ryan Phillipe, but also Reese Witherspoon – I’ve been told a few times I look like her. I just have very fond memories of me having a sleepover at my aunties and us watching the film together all snuggled up. She told me it was probably a bit old for me.. but then I wasn’t exactly watching Disney until I was 21.
7. I do not like Winnie the Pooh. He is not cute, he is not cuddly. I just can’t bear him. I will never buy any of my children anything with him on, I won’t decorate their rooms in Winnie the Pooh. Just no.
I hope you’ve learned a little bit more about me! Is there anything else you’d like to know?
My One Lovely Blog Award nominations are..
Grainne from Hope From a Butterfly
Shona from Training Mummy
Jen from The Mummy to Three
Sharon from Teen Tween Toddler
Kelly from More Than Just a Mummy

I am SO with you on Winnie the Pooh, don’t like him… I think it’s his voice, half whisper and too high… Sinister is right! Also agree that Cruel Intentions is a great film… Love it. I used to have the soundtrack and would blare it out on the stereo of my first car! Thanks for sharing a little about yourself, Crafty Mama. XxX
Sorry to the Pooh fans, I find him a bit sinister 🙁
Had a giggle at the Winnie the Pooh part too I feel the same about decorating kids rooms in Winnie the Pooh !
Haha, so glad I’m not alone. Where I grew up, all the people on benefits use to buy everything Winnie the Pooh, so I just associate him with benefit scroungers! That’s so bad isn’t it? Haha x
Aww how can you not like Winnie the Pooh? He’s lovely! Thank you for nominating me, I will do it as soon as I get a chance x
I can’t even watch him on TV, he gets on my nerves haha. I’m not a Disney kind of girl either though, I don’t get it! x
Lovely post, the Winnie the pooh made me giggle (probably because he’s on my baby girls bedroom wall lol) xx
Haha, we can no longer be friends 😉 xx
