I can’t believe I’m already writing my 10th week, this year is absolutely flying by! The clocks go forward in two weeks which means the start of British Summer Time – hurray! Toby has been so poorly this week and it’s left me almost exhausted. He’s been waking up in the early hours of the morning, and then I’m struggling to get back to sleep for about an hour. Secondly, he’s decided he’d like to start waking up at the crack of dawn, irrespective of the fact that it’s pitch black in his room because we have a Gro Blind at his window. Add this to my existing tiredness, as well as being pretty tired from being pregnant, and I am ready for a bit of hibernation. This picture pretty much sums up exactly how I feel..
Unfortunately he hasn’t really gotten any better, although we have managed to avoid any vomiting. I was at work Tuesday and Wednesday but was on complete standby ready to come home at the first ring of the phone.
In better news, I’ve booked my annual leave from work – which leaves me with a grand total of 5 weeks left to work! While that is very exciting, it’s making me realise that we really need to get on with sorting this nursery out and start getting things out of the loft. Usually, I am so conscious about it but it’s been the last thing on my mind this week. We also started using our Tots Bots, though we’re not having much luck with them at the moment. I have quite a few questions as we’re having a few issues with leaks – and not of the wee kind! I’m really desperate to get these on the go before the baby arrives so that we can be totally comfortable with using them. I’m not really sure how Toby feels about them just yet!
I had a very exciting delivery on Thursday. I was super lucky enough to win a brand new iCandy Emilia changing bag and one of their cable knit blankets through a competition they ran at The Baby Show a couple of weeks ago. It’s absolutely beautiful and I love it. It pays to enter!
Toby and I had a lovely day out in the garden on Friday as we had some really lovely weather, and he was feeling a little better. I managed to get a few more bits around the border done, and would have carried on had it not been for the fact that my new, shiny brown bin was full to the brim! He really enjoyed getting out in the fresh air, kicking the ball around the garden and just generally exploring. We try to avoid our garden as it’s yet to be done, and it’s not particularly child friendly.
My mum came to visit us on Saturday as her husband was away and she hadn’t seen Toby properly for a while, even though we do get to FaceTime if we can. And of course, today, was Mother’s Day. I got to have a little lie in and even got a cup of tea in bed. Toby got me a lovely little card with a kangaroo on the front, as I used to carry him like a little joey. He also got me a lovely Champney’s gift set, so I will now smell lovely!
