Working up a cosy glow with Amphora Aromatics

Eek! Christmas is obviously just around the corner and with the weather starting to turn, though you wouldn’t know it with the balmy day we had on Sunday, it’s time to get cosy!

I was recently contacted by a lovely company called Amphora Aromatics. They’re not a company I’d ever heard of before but I quite like aromatic and smelly things as I like the house to smell fresh. (Anything to mask the smell of two little boys’ nappies when you walk in is great…)

With it being close to Christmas, we were sent a rather festive Orange and Clove candle to burn and what better way to spend the evening than with a cup of tea on the sofa, watching a film and a candle flickering away in the corner. Candlelight for me represents serenity and calmness, which is perfect because we can only light them after the children have gone to bed and it’s in those moments I can actually clear my head and think.

The orange and clove scented candles which, despite the deceiving size, each burn for twenty hours, and they also come in forty hour ones too. They’re made from pure essential oils and are 100% plant wax, which is an off white colour and so will match any living space. Personally, I prefer mine in the living room.

While I agree with the scent being ‘uplifting and stimulating’, I’d also add that it’s calming, well balanced fragrance. It’s not overpowering at all and I think I’d only use this scent in the colder months. It’s much too ‘rich’ for the summer months though there are plenty more scents to choose from! The 20 hour candles are priced at £5.50 so they’re not the cheapest but they do last a long time and they do smell lovely! If you’re looking for a nice little stocking filler this Christmas, or just something to set the ambience while you’re cooking Christmas dinner, this candle is for you!

Amphora Aromatics started life in Bristol in 1984 in the back room of a shop and is now one of the UK’s largest suppliers of essential oils and aromatherapy products. Christine and Peter Carroll are the founders of Amphora Aromatics. They had travelled the world and spent time in a Himalayan hill town studying native traditional medicine systems and associated philosophy. Upon their return, Amphora Aromatics was born and has been inspired by their travels right from Europe through to Iran and India.

Amphora Aromatics has an extensive range of essential oils, creams, gels, balms and body care products – all of which are the result of many years experience seeking out independent producers from across the globe to source only the best ingredients.
