Harrow & Green | Personalised Christmas Present Sack

Christmas sacks have become hugely popular in the last few years. They were never really a thing when I was a child (if they were I didn’t know about it) but each of my boys have one, and Jamie and I have one each that his parents use for us each year. Harrow & Green have these stunning hessian (aka burlap or jute) Christmas sacks and they are so simple yet effective

Harrow & Green Hessian Christmas Sacks

It’s become a little thing for us to have a Christmas sack and stockings every year and I love the way they look under the Christmas tree. Designed in their London studio the sacks are a very spacious 80cm x 50cm and can be personalised with any name of your choice.

While all standard design is printed in black, the name with which you personalise this is printed in red. It’s all in block capitals and has an express mail service stamp at the top. Harrow & Green allow you to use up to 30 characters and this can be across 3 lines; large text at the top and smaller text for the middle and bottom, though you are able to change this by raising an enquiry after purchase.

This particular design is the ‘ticking trim’ where there is a striped material that runs around the top, designed by Susie Watson – a renowned UK fabric designer and manufacturer. However, there are other designs available such as sacks with a gingham trim or no trim at all.

It has that hessian texture and while it does moult a little bit it’s absolutely not a reflection on the quality and sturdiness of the sack – it’s very typical of the material to do this – and it’s just beautiful. It brings a traditional feel back into Christmas

While the sacks appear to be the main thing that Harrow & Green offer, they also do Christmas stockings, tote bags, make your own Santa sack kits, dog stockings, tea towels and loads of other bits and bobs that are just so perfectly Christmassy – I’m definitely eyeing up one of their Christmas tea towels.

We do have one of their Christmas mini sacks with the ‘R’ initial on it and I plan to fill this up with a magical Christmas activity advent. The boys can then pick one out of the sack each day which will be really nice.
