Keeping Up With The Bump | Week 25

I know I must say this every week but where is the time going? It doesn’t seem like another one has already passed and we’re well into the second trimester at week 25. I think time may slow down a bit, now we’re not counting down to when the kitchen will be done, but we’ve still got so much to do before you’re here – starting with your nursery!

What’s Happening To You In Week 25?

Well you’re certainly bigger. If you’re laying in the right position I can see my belly do a small mexican wave when you move, and I can see every time you kick or elbow me. Apparently, your weight is about the same as an average swede and you’re more or less 13.5″ long. It’s about now you start piling on some fat, say goodbye to that lovely lean tummy, I know I’ve had to (though it wasn’t that lean before). If you do come out with hair you should have a little bit more now and, if I could see you, I could probably see the colour and maybe even the texture. If it’s anything like Toby’s was, it’ll be quite dark and a bit matted!

I’m beginning to work out when you’re awake and when you’re not – I must say I quite like your routine at the moment, though the wake up punches at 6am aren’t really my thing. Sometimes it differs but it’s great especially when it comes to counting the kicks! I don’t think you respond to anything in particular, whether it’s my terrible singing, the hoover or Toby blowing yet more raspberries on my tummy! I think, deep down, he knows you’re in there and can’t wait to play with you when you arrive.

What’s Happening To Mummy In Week 25?

I’ve noticed this week that my hair is thicker, which is not good, because my hair is already thick and I need almost a gazillion layers to try and thin it out! Aside from that, I’m still just hungry all the time. I can eat a full meal and within the hour I’m already thinking about having something else to eat. My belly button sometimes goes flat too if you’re laying the right way. Thankfully it never fully popped with Toby so I hope it doesn’t with you either.

Your Daddy and I have been discussing your name again, and we think we’ve come up with “the one”. It’s taken a little convincing me though, initially I was against it and wanted the “full name” but it’s grown on me a lot. Your middle names have also been decided and they have been for a while. This really is something I’d like to keep for ourselves for now, but I can’t wait to introduce you to everybody.

I’ve been having another little think about my birthing preferences but feel I need to research into all types of caesarean before I make an actual decision. It’s getting ever closer to the appointment where I’ll get a date that we go in to meet you, and that’s much scarier than not knowing when you’re going to turn up!

Here we are at 25 weeks!

  • Ah lovely bump! Yay for choosing a name and I don’t blame you for wanting to keep it to yourselves for a while. I know what you mean about the uber thick hair, though mine entered the post pregnancy shed a few weeks ago and I am hoping it settles back to normal soon as there is hair everywhere! Thanks for linking with #MaternityMondays xx

    • Ahh, thanks! Well, I say we’ve decided on a name, but things can always change can’t they? After I’d had Toby, I lost so much hair. I felt like I was pulling whole wigs out at a time; my poor plug holes! I even ended up with really thin patches at the front. Even after it’s all fallen out it’s got to grow back again, so you have the unruly baby hairs that you can’t do anything with. Hormones are such a joy, haha. Thank you for running the link, it’s really lovely xx

  • Your bump is looking fab! How exciting that you have chosen a name. Not too long until you will be introducing your baby and telling everyone what you have chosen!
Thanks for linking up to #bloggerbumps x

    • Thank you! Ahh I’m so excited about it that I really want to reveal it now, but things could change so don’t want to say just yet, you never know! Roll on 15 weeks. Thanks for hosting the link up x
